Car charger does not work on iPhone 3G

Bought following accessories for iPhone 3G:

• Silicon Case Cover from ebay $5.49
• USB charging/sync cable from www.usbfever.com for $3
• USB Car charger from www.dealextreme.com for $2.58 (not working on iPhone 3G!

All three items are shipped from HongKong. However, the car charger does not change iPhone charging icon. I am not sure if it is really charging or not. Since it seems can provide power to the phone. I also saw a forum discussing this issue: "iPhone 3G incompatiable with many iPod accessories". What a bad business/engineering practice from Apple!

Jailbroken iPhone 3G
Now, I can install a proxy and use the phone as a 3G modem for the laptop. That is pretty useful feature. Other goodies include a nice terminal and a demo version of quake2iphone.

Jailbreak and unlocking 1st generation iPhone using WinPwn at http://winpwn.com/

After getting off contract with AT&T, I checked online documents and tried out to jailbreak the first iPhone.
Loaded some nice applications and these are nice features Apple should not block for the users at all.

Anyway, this phone was sold on ebay at this list.

iPhone 3G is out and it is time to upgrade.
Drove to Palo Alto Apple store at 9:40am Sunday morning 7/27, the store is open! even though the listed hours open at 11am.
There is no line when I walked in. Quickly I decided to buy 16GB model using the $300 gift card from Tai. One small sidetrack was the corporate discount on my current AT&T service locked me out so I have to make a call to remove it first. Eric is handling my sales and check out is done around 10am. Here are some pictures of new and old iPhones.

A few days after this purchase, the old phone was sold for $305 on ebay to someone in Argentina.
